QUALIFICATIONS
Mr. Strotz has practiced Architecture and Interior Design in California for
more than 35 years. Since moving to the Bay Area in 1954, he has designed
high-rise office buildings, residential complexes, industrial
warehouses/factories, hospitals, hotels and office parks. Along with the
architectural design of these structures, he has been responsible for the
interior design and space planning for many of these projects.
In 1956, Mr. Strotz became associated with the San Francisco firm of Anshen
and Allen and, in 1965, became a managing partner. During this period, the
Chapel of the Holy Cross, Sedona, Arizona, the Visitor Center at Dinosaur
National Monument in Utah, and the 24-story International Building in San
Francisco were completed and published.
Since 1976, Mr. Strotz has been the President of A.K. Strotz + Associates, a
California Corporation, and Principal of A.K. Strotz Interiors. He maintains
a varied practice where the two firms complement each other to provide each
client with a full professional service: architecture and interior
design/space planning.
Mr. Strotz is also associated with many professional organizations, has
spear-headed innovative committees and presented architectural seminars. He
was the Chairman of the Committee that wrote the Production Office
Procedures Manual for the American Institute of Architects. This manual is
the first of its kind for the architectural profession.
Since 1982, Mr. Strotz has provided expert witness consulting services for
several law firms. Litigations have involved contractors, developers,
owners, homeowners associations, and other architectural firms. Most
recently, Mr. Strotz has appeared in court on behalf of the contractor
testifying as to what services he would expect under specific conditions.
